Case Study: Tennis Player
Tennis Player With Ongoing Pain and Poor Posture
Tad is a competitive tennis player. When he first came in, he had pain in many parts of his body. His shoulder, shoulder blade, hips, and low back all hurt. He also had a stress fracture in his lower spine. Because of this, he felt stiff, weak, and tight. His posture was getting worse, and he did not feel smooth or confident on the tennis court.
Tad had already tried massage, stretching, and basic physical therapy. None of it helped. In fact, he felt worse over time, especially when he trained and played tennis often.
Tad started training using the Functional Patterns method. The focus was on improving posture, shoulder movement, hip movement, and how his whole body worked together. He trained two times per week and continued working with his tennis coach.
By January 2024, all of Tad’s pain was gone. His shoulder, shoulder blade, hips, and low back no longer hurt. His posture improved, and his body felt less stiff. He was able to train longer without losing muscle or feeling worn down. On the court, he moved more smoothly and played with more confidence.
Today, Tad is fully pain-free. He trains consistently, competes in tournaments, and travels often for tennis. Functional Patterns is the only fitness system he uses.
